As part of the 25th Anniversary celebration of
the Somers Point Good Old Days Festival, organizers are attempting to
identify the 25 greatest bartenders in the history of Somers Point.
Somers Point has been known for their warm and friendly taverns dating
back to the late 1700’s, and it is fitting that we recognize those
individuals that helped make our community the sociable place that it
is today.
The only criterion to be met is that the person
must have bartended in Somers Point for at least 5 years. A contest
will be held over the summer and the 25 individuals receiving the most
votes will be declared the 25 Greatest Bartenders in Somers Point’s
History. Voting will consist of money donated to the Lawrence “Bud”
Scholarship Fund in a nominee’s name, i.e. $1 equals 1 vote.
To nominate someone or for more information simply
call the Somers Point CER Office at 927-7161 ex. 256. Nominations close
as of July 1. Winners will be announce at this year’s Good Old
Days Festival that will be held on September 6 at John F. Kennedy Park
in Somers Point.
